Camp Constantin - June 11-17, 2017
The Troop took advantage of beautiful May weather to spend the weekend at Camp Walrus (Cordova) on the southern shores of Canyon Lake. The campout featured a Friday night full moon and its incredible reflection off the lake, a Saturday morning breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoky links, a three hour canoe trip down the Guadalupe River, cold drinks and AC at McDonalds, a game of waterfront football and a great fire complete with joke-telling contest at the campfire ring by the water's edge. Special thanks to Bethel Methodist Church for providing the Troop with their fundraiser leftovers for dinner Saturday night - brisket, sausage, beans and baked potatoes! Congratulations to Brandon (Pterodactyl joke) and Nathan G. (pirate joke) who tied for first place in joke telling contest!
Ten boys attended (Jaymez, Jess, Luis, Hugo, Brandon, Nathan G., Matt, Nathan T., and Jose), and four adults (Mr. Arnie, Mr. Tom, Mr. Ray, and our very own Mr. Walrus). After the success of the weekend and canoe trip, Mr. Walrus has offered to make this campout an annual event. Thanks Walrus!!
